I’M GONNA BE YOUR HERO
by Chuck Brimer
Green lantern ‘s got himself a ring I’ve got two wedding bands
commissioner gorden has a big red phone I’ve got the number to the preacher man
superman’s got a chest of steel I’ve got a heart made of solid gold
flash gorden runs all over town I’m gonna run only where I’m told
I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be your true love
I’m gonna be your hero thank the good Lord above
cause I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be your true love
I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be the only one
007’s so far away said he’s never gonna make it to you
lone ranger would leave right now but silver’s blowed a shoe
sam spade’s just across the street but he used all his bullets up
silver chalice has gone to sleep and his momma can’t find the cup
Look’s like I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be your true love
I’m gonna be your hero thank the good Lord above
cause I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be your true love
I’m gonna be your hero I’m gonna be the only one
RED HEADED GIRL
by Chuck Brimer
There saying your to young
and he’s a little old
there thinking it won’t last
that’s just the way it goes
don’t waste your time on him he’s dangerous
I speak from experience you’ll pay for us
you know what your sister did
do you want to do the same
remember what your mother said
and who was to blame
at (in) times like these your feeling all alone
but it’s always darkest before the dawn then love said
red headed girl won’t you come my way show me
your pennies from heaven
I need a friend like you today I’ve never really had one
red headed girl could I be yours won’t you look into my eyes
will you love me forever more and tell me no lies
oh why oh why
won’t she listen to reason
I know her daddy’s right
she used to try and please him
she say’s she’s of the age to make the choice her own
how can they tell her she can’t follow love love said
red headed girl won’t you come my way show me your pennies from heaven
I need a friend like you today I’ve never really had one
red headed girl could I be yours won’t you look into my eyes
will you love me forever more and tell me no lies
tell me no lies
never say goodbye
WHEN I SAW YOU
by Chuck Brimer
When I saw you, blue skies broke the clouds
When I met you, the church bells rang in town
When I gave my heart, a tear fell from your eye
The angels in heaven sounded sweeter that day
the day when your love came around and promised to stay
When I held you, the four winds whispered your name
When I kissed you, stars fell from the sky
It was then I knew, the twinkle in my eye
The angels in heaven sounded sweeter that day
the day when your love came around and promised to stay
When I saw you, the blue skies broke the clouds
When I met you, your smile removed all doubt
It was then I knew, what I couldn’t live without
The angels in heaven sounded sweeter that day
the day when your love came around and promised to stay
MISTY MOON
by Chuck Brimer
the lights are low they all sleep tight but I walk a lonely walk tonight
and I know rain may fall step by step I take our path
and wonder how this came to pass I wipe my cheek and rub my eyes
a hundred thousand clouds go by
I hear the dogs and see wet grass touch a tree as I go past
no socks no shoes I dip the creek all at once reflections speak
look to the left then the right all is dark there’s only night
these ripples glow from up above a faded light that once meant love
its the misty moon that shines down on me
has closed it’s eyes on what used to be
and even though it shed a tear
will never know just how I feel
cause the misty moon so far away
never spent a single day without you, without you
Deep inside I flinch with pain why won’t it just go away
Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks then months still in a haze
This mortal wound that I bleed from is all because of broken love
I only want to be alone, but the great white ball sends down its glow
LITTLE MS. PARKER
by Chuck Brimer
The big bad wolf said may I come in
little miss parker just stood and grinned
he slid his big ole toe underneath the door
her Sunday dress is what she wore
little ms parker may I come in
Knock, knock, knock, I won’t stay long
one of these day’s I’ll be moving on
what’s that smell coming from your stove
I think I’ll stay long enough to know
little ms parker may I come in
I passed a friend of yours just down the road
she had a little red suit and a fishing pole
seemed to me she was heading this way
but I just don’t think she’ll make it today
little ms parker may I come in
Little ms parker where’s your mister at
what’s that you say he just stepped out
I know for a fact he aint coming back
a man of the house is what you lack
little ms parker may I come in
The smoke from your chimney is getting thin
I could bring some firewood in
kick off my shoes we could talk for a while
drink hot cocoa and sit by the fire
little ms parker won’t you let me in
I thought I heard the latch pin fall
in just a moment they’ll hear her call
door flew open took me by surprise
double barrel shot gun filled my eyes
Little ms parker can we still be friends
Little ms parker can’t we still be friends
It Aint What But Who You Know
by Chuck Brimer
Tall dark and handsome, could play those guitar chords and sing
sold a billion records seen all his movies on tv
lived in a place called Graceland but everybody called him King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
There's been many a lonely night he was sitting here with me
He won two hundred races with number 43
drove a red and blue sedan in white was STP
one time he ran for Governor but everybody called him King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
There's been many a darkened day he was staring back at me
I can smell my momma's cooking, taste the snow on the window seal
my family's coming home now, soon we'll gather round the tree
and retell that good old story about the King of Kings
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
He aint Rockin He aint Rolling He's taking care of me.
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
It aint what but who know, and baby I know the King
Wasn't Rocking wasn't Rolling He was hanging on a tree
Wasn't Rocking wasn't Rolling He was hanging there for me

TILL THERE WAS YOU
by Chuck Brimer
used to wonder the streets at night time
alone, watchin the shadows and lights shine
splash my foot in a puddle by the curb
scared of what was ahead just around the turn
till there was you till there was you
till there was you oh girl till there was you
what a crazy world then you
in a jungle with no way out
i would swing and kick i could scream and shout
i was left alone for another day
just to sit and cry my life away
till there was you till there was you
till there was you oh girl till there was you
what a crazy world then you
till there was you my sunshine seemed so cloudy
till there was you my life seemed so unfair
till there was you i never ever realized
there was someone out there who really cared
till there was you till there was you
till there was you oh girl till there was you
what a crazy world then you
Baby, Let's Drive
by Chuck Brimer
I put my last two dollar bill on red 7 just before midnight
A one eyed dog looked on as smoke danced beneath your tailights
you have found me here once again clutching a rabbits foot and throwing dice
what have I done wrong this time
who do you think I am and what do you think you can do with me
I don't know what's going on, I'm so blind that I can't see
Take my hand and lead me out of here, I'm one step behind you
hold me close until the morning comes, I don't know what I'm running from
fly me home upon your wings of love, and make me feel alive
there's nothing but the big blue sky above, come on baby let's drive ooh baby let's drive
In the past I've done wrong and guilt hangs above my head
and shame it fills my heart
maybe this will make me forget maybe it will all just go away
and I will feel this numb no more
who do you think I am and what do you think you can do with me
I don't know what's going on I'm so blind that I can't see
Take my hand and lead me out of here I'm one step behind you
hold me close until the morning comes I don't know what I'm running from
fly me home upon your wings of love and make me feel alive
there's nothing but the big blue sky above come on baby let's drive ooh baby let's drive

by Chuck Brimer
every body has a time of the year when they feel cold and grey
but baby doll when your near that feeling goes away
i’ve never had the time fo my life cept a walkin along with you
oh but how can i tell you what i feel inside your a dream come true
ooh sweet summer time makes me feel so fine
walkin thru the green grass holding hands
sweet summer time sweet gal o mine
warm and friendly like a bottle of hope opened to fill the air
and every time she looks my way, you can bet i’m there
never sad with summer on my mind no matter what the day may hold
she keeps me happy with her warm sunshine thats the way it goes
ooh sweet summer time makes me feel so fine
walkin thru the flowers holdin hands

Still In Your Heart
by Chuck Brimer
I remember a lonely night sitting here at home
what did you leave me for I may never know
it seems like so long ago but it was yesterday
how can I go on without you I need you in so many ways
baby I don’t want you to go don’t you know I love you so
Do you remember our walks in the park oh girl am I still in your heart
I carry you with me night and day no one can take my baby away
they say a bird in the hand equals two well baby I'm here waiting on you
I never knew it could hurt so bad thinking bout the times we had
in the pages of this book I call my life your chapter has no end
the love I have for you is strong your still my closest friend
I know someday you'll come back to me but I wish you were here to see
all of the tears I've cried for you I don't know what else to do
BEAT UP, BROKEN, & BRUISED
by Chuck Brimer
Just like jack and jill we went up that hill and fell in love real fast
me being jack well I broke my crown thinking this love would last
I rolled round and round on down that hill into the water cold
when I woke up there they all stood, what a sight to behold
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy beat up broken and bruised
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy I’ll never be able to use
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy when raggedy ann went away
all it does is break into more and more each day
Just like humpty dumpty when he sat on the wall watching everybody pass
feeling really good looking real fine he was in love at last
but he leaned to much and he fell to hard broke his shell into
all of his sister’s and even his mother didn’t know what to do
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy beat up broken and bruised
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy I’ll never be able to use
I’ve got a heart like raggedy andy when raggedy ann went away
all it does is break into more and more each day
If I had a pen I’d write me a tail about a prince and his princess
they’d fall in love kiss and hug nothing for them but the best
and the tail’d be sweet and there love’d be true til she found something wrong
then he’d be shaking his head walking the street singing a blue mans song
(he said he’s)
SMALL WAYS
by Chuck Brimer
I stood with concern as the door opened wide
waiting out here for a girl inside
I could tell by the look of her hair it was you this time
minute by minute on needles and pins
my heart skips a beat then faster again
I was setting myself for a fall that was soon to begin
cause I had hoped it would be today
that I’d get a chance just to see your face
my time alone is still spent the same
thinking of you in all these small ways
memories of you in all these small ways
small ways
small ways
the snow’s falling down the fire is dark
the shattered remains that were once my heart
remind me of a yesterday that seems so far
shadows they follow me everywhere
I turn and I look then they disappear
whispering softly yes you were here
